When you do that, if there's something wrong with the words, you will stumble when you speak.
Even though I write like I talk there are often little 'hiccups' when I read those words back again.
Reading them out to someone not only allows them to catch the errors, it also stops you from breezing over errors that get missed when you don't speak the words.
Another thing that happens is, you can more easily catch the repeats.
That's words or phrases that you use too often.
It's acceptable in everyday speech because we're simply communicating and the words are 'lost in space' as soon as they're said.
When others read your book however, you don't want them to hear the same stuff all the time.
With a Kindle book you can see how other authors have done this.
Type in a search for a word and see how many times it appears in the book in a similar phrase each time.
It's particularly prevalent in erotica where the repetition of words and phrases is as boring as the sound of a jackhammer :)
Use alternatives when you find you're doing this, just to add the variety to your words that will keep your readers interested.
